Zoo byla ve velmi špatném stavu. Od roku 2008 začala plánována rekonstrukce a přestavba na Parc Biologique de Bamako (ten byl oficiálně založen v roce 1997), která měla postupně spojit zoo, Botanickou zahradu a Národní muzeum v jeden biologický park. Otevření nového parku bylo původně plánováno na září 2010, ale inaugurace nakonec proběhla až v květnu 2012, přičemž rekonstrukce samotné zoo probíhala 2011 - 2013. Sloni, velbloudi, gazely, opice, šimpanzi, lvi, levharti, hyeny, bradavičnatá prasata, buvoli, pštrosi, hadi, želvy, krokodýli, ryby...

Zoo was in very poor condition. Since 2008, renovation and rebuilding to the Parc Biologique de Bamako was began (it was officially founded in 1997), it has gradually merge the zoo, Botanical Gardens and the National Museum in one biological park. The opening of new park was originally planned in September 2010, but at last inauguration went until in May 2012, while renovation of the zoo itself gone 2011 - 2013. Elephants, camels, gazelles, monkeys, chimpanzees, lions, leopards, hyenas, warthogs, buffalos, ostriches, snakes, turtles, crocodiles, fishes...
