zoo byla založena v roce 1950 jak zookoutek na ve Ștrandu na pravém břehu řeky Argeș (medvědi, vlci, lišky...). V roce 1970 povodeň zaplavila zookoutek a tak se následně přestěhoval do parku Trivale. Do roku 2009 zoo prošla rozsáhlými rekonstrukcemi, jelikož nesplňovala standardy moderního chovu zvířat (problém mnoha zoo po vstupu Rumunska do EU). Lvi, tygři, vlci, lišky, dinga, medvědi hnědí a himalajští, paviáni, pekari, divočáci, srnci, daňci, mufloni, paovce, lamy, asijští divocí osli, buvoli, divocí králíci, nutrie, emu, sovy, jestřábi, koroptve, bažanti, vodní ptáci, želvy, domácí zvířata (koně, poníci, ovce, kozy, činčily, slepice...) atd.

the zoo was founded in 1950 as a zoo-corner in Ștrand on the right bank of the river Argeș (bears, wolves, foxes...). In 1970 a flood inundated the zoo-corner so it moved subsequently to the Trivale park. Till 2009, the zoo has undergone extensive renovations, because didn't meet the standards of modern animal breeding (the problem of many zoo after Romania's accession to the EU). Lions, tigers, wolves, dingos, foxes, brown and Asiatic black bears, baboons, wild boars, pecaris, fallow and roe deer, moufflons, Barbary sheep, llamas, Asiatic wild asses, buffaloes, wild rabbits, nutrias, emus, owls, hawks, partridges, pheasants, waterfowls,  tortoises, domestic animals (horses, ponies, sheep,  goats, chinchillas, hens...) etc,
