podle perského historika Ebn Esfandīāra (žil na přelomu 12. a 13. stol.) byla v Barforuši (dnešní Bábol) tzv. bāḡ. Bāḡ nebo bagh se obvykle překládá jako zahrada, ačkoli to není úplně přesné - bagh je uzavřený prostor s trvalými kulturami (stromy, keře, květiny) a s typickými íráno-islámskými architektonickými prvky. Veškeré elementy mají svůj význam (půda, rostliny, kameny, cesty, záhony, osvětlení, jezírka...), důležitým faktorem baghu je genius loci. Bagh v Barforuši existoval někdy ve 12. století, měl dvě zahrady - jednu s pavilonem, který stál uprostřed bazénu a byl přístupný padacím mostem a druhou, větší, s velkým umělým jezerem (dvě míle obvod) a ostrůvkem. Jezera byla bohatá na ryby. Polovina větší zahrady byla osázena stromy a květinami a polovina sloužila jako menažerie, kde byly například i žirafy a v menší zahradě byly voliéry.

according to Persian historian Ebn Esfandīār (lived at the turn of 12th and 13th century.) in Barforush (today's Babol) there was so called bāḡ. Bāḡ or bagh is usually translated as a garden, though it is not entirely accurate - the bagh is a enclosed area with permanent cultures (trees, shrubs, flowers) and typical Iran-Islamic architectural elements. All elements have their importance (soil, plants, rocks, paths, garden beds, lighting, ponds...) the important factor of the bagh is its genius loci. Bagh in Barforush existed sometime in the 12th century, had two gardens - one with a pavilion that stood in the middle of the pool and was accessible by the drawbridge and the second, larger, with a large artificial lake (two miles circumference) and the island. The lakes were rich in fish. Half of the large garden was planted with trees and flowers, and half served as a menagerie, where for example also giraffes were and in the smaller garden there were aviaries.
