soukromá zoo v rezidenci Mežihirja bývalého prezidenta Ukrajiny
Viktora Janukoviče. Bývalé komunistické sídlo (původně klášter) a během
války také sídlo říšského komisaře se po pádu socialismu stalo státním
rekreačním komplexem. V roce 2002 byla Mežihirija privatizována a v roce
2003 si jí na 49 let pronajal Viktor Janukovič (tehdy premiér) za
směšných 3,14 hřiven měsíčně. Když Janukovič vyhrál v prezidentských
volbách (2010), prohlásil Mežihiji za oficiální sídlo prezidenta. Již
tehdy se objevovali útržkovité informace o tom, že má Janokovič v
Mežihiriji soukromý zvěřinec, ale podrobné informace se na svět dostaly
až po Janukovičově svržení z postu prezidenta. Honosné sídlo nedisponuje
žádným obyčejným zvěřincem, ale de facto normální zoo se spoustou zvířat
chovaných v luxusních podmínkách...
Antilopy losí, mufloni, paovce, několik druhů jelenů, divočáci, klokani,
mary, dikobrazi, tarbíci (?), pštrosi, emu, nandu, papoušci, dropi,
jeřábi, pávi, asi 10 druhů bažantů, perličky chocholaté, husy
kuří, 3 druhy labutí a další vodní ptáci, mnoho domácích zvířat...
Zpočátku (po svržení Janukoviče) byla zoo přístupná veřejnosti, ale její
osud není v této době (březen 2014) zcela jasný.

commissioner became a national recreation complex after the fall of
socialism. In 2002, Mezhyhiriya was privatized and in 2003, was leased
by Viktor Yanukovych (then Prime Minister ) for 49 years and for a
derisory 3.14 hrivnas per month. When Yanukovych won the presidential
election (2010), declared the Mezhyhiriya as the official residence of
the President. Already at that time, a sketchy information have appeared
that Yanukovych has private menagerie in Mezhyhiriya, but detailed
information came to light of the world of the world only after the
overthrowing of Yanukovych as president. The luxurious residence has no
ordinary menagerie, but de facto standard zoo with many animals bred in
luxury conditions...
Elands, mouflons, Barbary sheep, several species of deer, wild boars,
kangaroos, maras, porcupines, jerboas (?), ostriches, emus, rheas,
parrots, bustards, cranes, peacocks, about 10 species of pheasants,
crested guineafowl, cape barren geese, 3 species of swans and other
waterfowl, many domestic animals...
Initially (after the overthrow of Yanukovych), the zoo was opened to the
public, but its fate is not entirely clear at this time (March 2014).
